I’ve been a multi-sport athlete my whole life, but baseball has always been my passion—the game I live and breathe. As Carl Yastrzemski once said, "I think about baseball when I wake up in the morning. I think about it all day and I dream about it at night. The only time I don't think about it is when I'm playing it." That quote perfectly sums up my relationship with the game.
I started playing baseball at 3 years old, when all I did is play in the dirt, and never looked back. As a freshman, I earned the starting shortstop spot on our Varsity team and was honored with a 2nd Team All-Conference selection after posting a .280 average over 82 at-bats. In my sophomore season, I stepped into the leadoff hitter role while continuing to anchor our defense at shortstop. Our team made it to the Iowa State Tournament semi-finals, where I was recognized as the All-Tournament Team shortstop, and I again was named 2nd Team All-Conference at the completion of the season.
I may be a late bloomer, but I've shown consistent growth and improvement in my game—mentally and physically-as I continue to mature in height, weight, and strength. My goal is to play baseball at the collegiate level and beyond. I'm dedicated, coachable, and always working to get better—on and off the field.
